Prejudice poetry

This page is for poetry which is to do with life as a lesbian in todays world.

Don't judge me

Don't judge me until you know me
don't look until you're ready to see
the me that hides beneath my clothes
the me burie so deep inside.

Don't make assumptions of my worth
don't judge me based on guesses
for beneath the outer hell i show
is a beauty that i hide.

Inside the rough edged oyster
you may find a pearl
look throw the rainy or stormy day
and a rainbow might reside.

get over all your prejudice
and judge be based on facts
for reputation is nothing dear
unless the true me you take the time to find.

Homophobia

A different issue, a different day
another uncalled for "it's because she's gay"
what's it to you if i'm straight or not?
if it really matters to you, go rot!

I love a woman, whoopeedoo
why the heck's that bother you?
another excuse for my trife?
my god, you really need a life.

love is love and love is good
whether or not you like manhood
friendship will never have a basis
if honestly it comes down to prejudice.

prejudice

hatred
somewhere between us
hatred
causing you to thrust
insults at me
hatred
you can't let me be
hatred
why am i your problem?
hatred
makes you yell at me often
hatred
makes us different
hatred
makes you think i'm a freak.
hatred
for my way of life
your hatred
causing me strife.

yup, you're still here.
